Dad's Secret Christmas Gift Wish List

Ever wonder what is on your Dad's secret wish list? Although we haven't gotten in touch with your dad personally, we can make some pretty accurate guesses at what lots of Dads have on their wish lists this season!

We know lots of men who would flip over receiving a trip to baseball spring training, along with a group of friends. Or for the true wannabe, a trip to a baseball or football camp for adults would make him giggle like a girl. These sports camps are generally hosted by former professional athletes, giving Dad a real thrill as he gets to meet one of his sports heros and allows him to fulfill his dreams of playing like a pro.

If the great outdoors is the sport of choice for your Dad, a hunting trip or a fishing excursion would be ideal. We'd bet his dream is to go hunting in the great Northwest, or deep-sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. Guided tours for hunting groups or pro fishing tours are gifts they'll never forget.

Of course, an outdoorsman's wish list would have to include a new fishing boat or a new camping trailer. But if those items are out of your price range, we know he'd be thrilled to have a new tent, a shiny Coleman stove, and several lanterns. Add a new sleeping bag and some warm outdoor clothing and he'll be happy in his toasty new digs. Basically, any kind of new camping gear will be a hit.

Some Dads' idea of being in the great outdoors, is "roughing it" on a golf course. If yours loves golf, sending him on a golfing vacation would make for a very happy Dad. But again, if that's too expensive, we know he'd be tickled to receive personalized tees or golf balls, a nice new putter or a snazzy golf bag instead. Golf gifts are an easy choice here.

If your dad is more of practical, stay-at-home kind of guy, then the perfect gift might be to hire a handyman to complete all those little "honey-do" lists that he keeps putting off. Make sure to also give him a book by his favorite author or a magazine he loves, so he can spend some time relaxing while the handyman does the chores for him.

One of the best gifts a Dad can get is also free. Create a coupon book, using colored construction paper and markers. Each coupon will contain one item that you promise to do for you Dad whenever he "cashes in" the coupon. Here are a few examples of coupons you might include in the book.

  • This coupon good for one week of taking out the trash without being reminded.
  • This coupon good for one week of mowing the lawn and trimming hedges.
  • This coupon good for one complete car wash and detail.
  • This coupon good for one 3 course breakfast in bed.

If we've missed anything on your Dad's wish list, we bet you can find something perfect online this holiday season. The one that we can guarantee is always on your Dad's secret wish list is this: a hug. Don't forget to wrap that one up too!
